How did the Clinic get its name?
The Clinic is a faith-based organization and the name "Judeo Christian" is taken from the Old Testament to symbolize the ethic of man helping his fellow man. You do not need to be of any particular faith to be treated at the Clinic. We do not even ask patients about their faith. If you meet the Clinic's guidelines and have no other resources and are in nead of health care, the the Clinic will help you.

Who is responsible for all of these services?
Hundreds of physicians, dentists, optometrists and opticians, dieticians, nurses, pharmacists, and other volunteer their time during evening hours to help provide free health care to the medically indigent of our community. Three fulltime and three part-time employees are paid out of Clinic funds. All others volunteer their time on behalf of the Clinic. A Board of Directors sets policy and is ultimately responsible for the organization.

How did the Clinic get started?
The Clinic was founded in 1972 by a Presbyterian minister. The Rev. Jim Holmes began holding clinic one night per week in one of his Sunday School classrooms at St. John Presbyterian Church. The Clinic has grown to be the largest and most comprehensive free clinic in the Southeast today.

What are the Clinic's needs?
The Clinic always needs additonal health care professionals, physcians, dentists, optometrists, nurses, pharmacists, as well as translators to volunteer in the evening clinics. The Clinic has a very large Spanish speaking patient population, so translators are needed to help translate for the doctors and patients. Of course, the Clinic is constantly seeking additional funding sources as well, and we welcome all donations - large and small.
